I hope you had a great weekend! We had SO much fun at our Cultural Celebration on Wednesday and hope you did as well! Getting a chance to connect and learn more about some of our families was truly a delight!

This Friday is our final Coffee with the Principals event. We invite you to join Ms. Bertson and me for a cup of coffee and conversation. There is no agenda–just a time for you to connect and talk about what you want to talk about.!
May is Mental Health Awareness month. With the end of the year comes many assessments. We know assessments can create worry and stress for kids. I encourage you to do everything you can to help create calm this month for your kids. Remind students that assessments help us best understand how we are doing and what kids need. Doing their best is the only thing needed!
Thursday is our final school improvement team meeting for the 2026-27 school year. This month’s meeting is in person, and all are welcome. We will be reviewing newly released teacher working conditions survey data. Teacher working conditions are an important measure of school culture!

Staff Appreciation Week
Staff Appreciation Week at George Watts Montessori is just one week away! Check out the flyer in your child’s backpack for additional details–we want to show our educators just how much they mean to us! There are lots of ways you can be involved…
Monday, May 18: help your child write personal notes of appreciation for staff members that they are most connected with!
Tuesday, May 19: Sweet Treat Bar–sign up to donate candy for a giant treat bar for teachers and staff!
Gift Card Raffle: surprise gifts are so much fun–donate a gift card to be raffled off throughout the week. Our hope is that each staff member will be surprised and delighted at least once during the week! Deliver to the front office by May 15.
