Afterschool Clubs at George Watts

There are so many creative ways to help our kids thrive and strengthen our school community. Our afterschool clubs are one of the places where passions turn into opportunities — for learning, connection, and fun. Below, you’ll find information on our current offerings and a simple form to share your own ideas.

Recent clubs

  • Warblers - Last school year, thirty talented 3rd–5th graders raised their voices in Watts's Warblers! Led by music teacher Ms. Burke, the group met every Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. as they prepared for their big concert in January.

  • Rainbow Club - The Rainbow Club celebrated the vibrant diversity of our school and supported our LGBTQ+ students and families. Led by Primary Teacher Ms. Harris, each meeting featured a themed craft, book, and activity designed to engage learners across grade levels. The club gathered on Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

  • George Watts Ultimate Club - Last April, we launched George Watts's inaugural ultimate frisbee club for 3rd–5th graders! Led by parent volunteers and supported by Triangle Ultimate, the club ran Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30–3:30 PM—non-contact, co-ed fun focused on teamwork, skills, and plenty of smiles.

  • Mural Club - George Watts got a beautiful new outdoor mural last spring, designed by our art teacher and brought to life by some of our 4th and 5th grade students. Students helped out on Thursdays and Fridays, with adult volunteers pitching in along the way to make it happen.

  • Watts World Newspaper Club - Journalism is important! And working together as a team to make something is fun! Last spring, Upper El students joined together for Watts's newspaper club. The club ran Wednesdays from April 8th through May 6th, and produced a great edition to send students off for the summer.
